Fable

A fashion storefront where the catalogue is the layout: collections, product detail and offers share one editorial grid rather than a template.

Overview

Fable is a fashion storefront concept built around the catalogue rather than around a shop template. Campaign photography, a featured piece and a member offer share one editorial grid, so the home page reads as a season rather than as a row of products.

The same grid carries through to the collections index and product detail, which keeps the browse and buy path predictable while the imagery changes with each drop.

Approach

Fashion sells on imagery, so a storefront has to give photography room. Most of them then fill that room back up with banners, badges and promotions until the clothes are the least prominent thing on the page.

Fable holds one editorial grid across every template and lets the promotion live inside it rather than on top of it. That keeps the browse quiet enough to feel premium while still carrying the offers a store has to run, and it takes several product categories without the layout becoming a different site each time.

Results

Products are easier to find and the store reads as a brand rather than as a catalogue. One grid across the templates means new collections drop into a layout that already works.
